Pine (Christine Bermas) and her husband Drake (Marc Anthony Fernandez) have just moved into a room on the first floor of an old boarding house owned by Mungo Dwight (Lou Velas). Along with two others (Nur Domingo and Rafi Tejada), Drake works as a bodyguard for a notorious prosecutor (Julio Diaz) who is currently implicated in a number of drug scandals.

Sitting on the second floor is Matt (Gold Aseron), an engineering student who is also a member of the school band. There is also the supporting character Helen (Alison Smith), a wayward club manager who has an inexplicable attraction to Matt.

Christine Bermas remains the best born actress in Vivamax's sexiest line-up to date, but Pine's role didn't make her especially emotional. Like Drake, Mark Anthony Fernandez is the stereotype of this mean, ferocious character. Gold Aseron had a breakthrough in her first film, Metamorphoses (2019), where she played an intersex character. However, he felt strange being Matt.

The lack of sophistication in this version of Night of the Scorpion is its downfall. Everything is clearly visible, no diffused dim lighting, no mosquito nets, nothing is left to the imagination.
