PETUALANGAN BERSINEMA DAN SEJUMPUT CERITA KEHIDUPAN

Sorry I rarely update this blog as I am busy writing my first novel and making a film. And once updated, it writes with a messy grammar like this. Sorry but I'm really tired of telling stories in official Indonesian and according to the latest version of EJT. I want to tell you something. Finally I was able to shoot my first film called Cents . The duration is only 18 seconds, so you can read about it in the Wow 10 Seconds Quiz . I wrote the story myself and shot the film with some friends who agreed to help me: Vincent José (cameraman), Christian Pramudia and Adi Kusuma. Players: Indra Pramojito [Itol] the famous MC who celebrated his birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday Brother!) and Zinal who is incredibly gokel. 

To be honest, after the shooting and editing process, the end result was unsatisfactory because the message I wanted to convey and the visualization didn't match the brain when the screenplay was being written. As a result, I was only able to choose the top 200 videos, which were chosen from the 1491 submitted videos (after the top 200 videos comes the top 60 and the top 25). But it's okay, it's my first time doing a film. Also, I'm used to writing long and complex stories, so of course I do simple stories that are limited to a maximum of 20 seconds, which is a challenge in itself. Forgiveness.

After the Cents project, I was invited to do a film as an independent project by one campus, the University of Ciputra. The film is a short documentary, shown in black and white, telling the story of mankind. I sat in the director's chair with my friend Agus Selim. I was originally hired as a screenwriter, but that wasn't "possible" and being one of the few who understands what the producer wants for a production (and also the only one who knows the titles of films that all the team members want watch), so I show up to accompany Agus as a director as well. Asiknya, any budget supported by the University I.

Oh yes, I want to show once again that the short story I wrote that became the inspirational basis for my novel (which was the first opportunity to complete it) was successfully selected to be included in the Best of Short Story Collection. "Pre-Ramadan Surprise", edited by NulisBuku. The title is "every Wednesday", the translation isn't great: "every Wednesday". But don't worry, this is not a religious story at all. The story will be with another flow into my novel than this poem and the title is no longer “every wednesday” Stay tuned in hopefully by the end of next year or 2015 at the latest it will be published by a well known publisher and in bookstores.

Then, last November, I submitted three of my film reviews to the Mayan Cup judges for selection, and unexpectedly, one of my pieces was shortlisted for Best Film Review Writing! Here are my adventures and activities for my 4 days vacation in Jakarta:

Day One: iPhone pickup case

My fourth trip to the cinema is without a doubt the most exciting (and shocking) release of the year. The first day I first attempted to drive in Transjakarta , my seat belt was buckled and my iPhone was stolen. I've got a bad feeling getting on that bus because first of all, it's Jakarta, folks. It's still part of Indonesia. Second, this is a man from Jakarta, not Singaporean. But the mum, who hasn't been to Jakarta in almost a decade, feels like she's back in Singapore, and that's it. Since this incident, we don't want to take the Transjakarta and the MRT to be built until the people's mentality is settled. So be careful, especially since Chinese and apparently rich people in Jakarta are always the target of thieves like this (I swear to death I didn't mean to be racist. After googling and asking my friends, it's a fact). Oh yes, last night I saw Snowpiercer at the Blitzmegaplex Grand Indonesia and met Denny Sumargo . I will review film and films later.

Day 2: Mayan Pickpocketing

Yes. I lost. But this defeat attracted valuable attention. I'm not disappointed at all. It's a thorny whip that allows me to learn and learn until I can write well and become a good candidate for winning the 2014 Virtual Cup. But I'm proud. My name has won national film awards and my name has been read by the legends of the Erawan brothers and I am really happy to ask for forgiveness. None of my school friends, even the geniuses, can be invited to the most prestigious film awards and sit and take pictures with the artists without waiting or stress. hahaha. The Maya Cup 2013 event is no doubt simple but good, fun, fun and of course more premium than FFI. Some famous actors came too, but the main flying scene was of course Rok in her peacock dress. Then my friends invited me to Burger King for an after party session. I had whooper at 1pm complete with fries and sweet lemon iced tea.

Anyway , it seems I can't take myself to heaven like people say. Not worth the price of Rp 60,500/pc.
