Review of THE BAD GUYS: Correctional Caper

April 28, 2022

In Los Angeles, anthropomorphic animals coexist with the human population. The common thief, mr. Wolf, leads a gang called "Bad Boys" who terrorize the city with their crimes. His friends include grumpy friend mr. Snake, Mr. Master of Child Disguise. Shark, the crazy Mr. Piranha, and the technical hacking genius Ms. tarantula. They lead a life of crime because people think they are all criminals.

One night, the Bad Boys host an event involving philanthropist and advocate for good, Professor Rupert Marmalade IV, who plans to steal the Golden Dolphin trophy that Fox Governor Diane Foxington is about to give him . Their plan failed and they were arrested. However, Marmalade intervenes and suggests doing an experiment to prove that she can turn bad people into good ones.

It is very interesting to see and study the work of DreamWorks Animation artists. The main animal characters are 3D because they still have an ancient 2D look in terms of detail. The hair and facial features of the wolf and his gang appear to be hand-drawn, unlike Disney Pixar, which usually depicts creatures with wavy, fluffy fur. The action sequences are also frenetic and exciting.

The voice acting is very interesting to listen to. Sam Rockwell (as Wolf) has a real relationship with light chemistry with Marc Maron (as Snake) and Jazzy Beetz (as Diane) . Miss Aquafina. The tarantula is practically a cliché that a female gang member should be a hacker. Anthony Reyes performed the catchy "Good Tonight" theme song in a festive mood.

The characters in this cartoon are literally "villains" as the name suggests. However , Ethan Cohen's screenplay, based on Aaron Blaby's children's book series of the same name, offers The Rascal Gang a storyline that promises to lead to redemption, allowing young viewers to watch it with their parents. The twist of the story unfolds, and the whimsical humor makes it quite entertaining for adults as well. 8/10
