Netflix: Review of THE BUBBLE: Queasy Quarantine

April 4, 2022

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the sixth installment of the popular Cliff Beasts franchise, titled Battle for Everest: Requiem Memories, has been hidden in a luxury hotel with the cast and crew in a "bubble". In England. The director is independent director Darren Egan (Fred Armisen) and the lead producer is Gavin (Peter Serafinovich), who must answer to ruthless studio executive Paula (Kate McKinnon).

All of the former cast returns for the series, including lead actor Dustin Mulrey (David Duchovny), his ex-wife Lauren Van Chance (Leslie Mann), inspirational writers Sean Knox (Kegan-Michael Key) and Carol Cobb (Karen Gillan). Returned to the series after leaving the fifth part. The two new cast members are Oscar-winning actor Dieter Bravo (Pablo Pascal) and viral TikTok sensation Crystal Chris (Iris Apatow).

Judd Apatow is known for writing and directing comedies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Dumped (2007) and most recently The King of Staten Island (2020). The latter is a clone of filmmakers nervous about the Covid-19 precautions designed during the outbreak. The story of Jurassic World 3: World Domination is inspired by the real-life bubble situation that was filmed last year.

Comedies that are heavy, dark, angry, drugged, and even violent can be difficult to digest, as they are 126 minutes long. Apatow has put together more than 20 actors who don't hesitate to play extreme showbiz stereotypes, annoying diva-behaved workers and hotel staff who serve them. Hands and feet. Humor is mostly monotonous and boring, and tries too hard to be funny.

There, it's fun replacing the flying dinosaur monster with the guy in the mo hat behind the scenes, but that too quickly becomes repetitive. Tiktok dance is fun at the beginning, but they don't feel the need to repeat it until the end. To keep some of the smiles alive, there are celebrities to boost the mood, including Beck, Benedict Cumberbatch, Daisy Ridley, John Cena and John McAvoy. 3/10.
