After the events of the first film, Sonic the Hedgehog was still living in Green Hills, Montana with his adoptive family, Sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) and his veterinarian wife Maddy (Tika Sumpter). Because he wants to help others, he sometimes sneaks in to fight crime in the city. However, Tom tells him that he is still too young for these tasks and that the time will come when his skills will be more useful.
While on Mushroom Planet, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) encounters a powerful alien echidna named Knuckles while searching for Earth's most powerful Lord Emerald. Meanwhile, Sonic teams up with a small space fox named Tails in an effort to reach the Siberian glaciers in order to get to the Master Emerald first. They all ended up ringside at Maddie's sister Rachel's wedding in Hawaii.
The cute character designs, infectious energy, and youthful humor made the first movie a huge hit in early 2020. This time there are two more aliens that Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) encounters. The BranyTails (voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessy) were a furry fox with two tails to help him fly. The very enraged Knuckles (amazingly voiced by Idris Elba) was the last of the echidna, the owl's enemies, to take over Sonic's care.
Fans of SEGA games and various adventures will learn about the various details included or referenced in this series, from Robotnik's giant egg monster to Sonic Tornado's plane, or references to Mushroom Hill Zone or the maze. Labyrinth. There have been many interesting and surprising references to DC and Marvel comics, such as Sonic's idol, Batman, and references to the Winter Soldier and the Multiverse.
In his crazy and impressive performance, only Jim Carrey can top his charming animated characters and carry the movie on his shoulders. With his strange clothes and crazy beard, d. Robotnik had his antics and wicked sense of humor that made us laugh out loud. Count on Ray to come up with some quick and naughty jokes to please the parents at the gym. 6/10.
