Review of THE LOST CITY: Rough and Risky Romance

Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) was a best-selling author of romantic adventure novels about a brave, long-haired fantasy heroine named Stone. Publicist Loretta Beth (Da'Vine Joy Randolph) organizes a book tour with Alan (Channing Tatum), a popular book model, to help sell her latest book, The Lost City of D.
However, Loretta is kidnapped by eccentric tycoon Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), who knows about Loretta's college background in archaeology. He asked Loretta to return an old piece of parchment that showed the location of the legendary crown of fire that he mentioned in his book. When the police won't help, Alan steps into hero mode and hires mercenary Jack Trainer (Brad Pitt) to turn him around.
Sandra Bullock truly magically embodies such roles, as she did in films such as "Miss Congeniality" (2000) or "The Heat" (2013). For almost two-thirds of this movie, she's wearing a fuchsia, sequined, sequined bodysuit. She didn't care that this outfit looked too silly and we love it. The crazy chase scenes where Bullock was tied to a chair were hilarious.
Channing Tatum was a natural in this role of "Himbo", even more so than in "Magic Mike" (2012). We know from his filmography that he can pull off hard-hitting action scenes, but what happened here was all about physical comedy. She also showed off her dancing skills here with Bullock in a Latin American number. It didn't start well, but the romantic chemistry between Tatum and Bullock was pretty good and believable.
Daniel Radcliffe has another original character in his diverse list of roles as the main villain Fairfax. Oscar Nunez was pretty funny in his brief role as the cargo plane pilot who got shot down with Beth. The best thing about this movie, however, were the moments when Brad Pitt dazzled the screen with his incredible star power as action hero Jack the Trainer. With Pitt on screen with Bullock, we even forget that Tatum is her true lead. 7/10
