Sandy Toledo (Amanda Zamora) is the heir to the Toledo Business Group. She falls in love with Skye (Richard Huang), an architect currently living abroad, and names her Kasui. For her mother Mira's (Che Ramos-Cascio) upcoming birthday, her father Lorenz (Justin Cougan) assigns her to work with high school football captain Rocky Avila (Chica Alicaya) to organize a special fundraising event for her mother's charity project. . .
Rocky's grandmother, known as Yaya (Peavy O'Hara), owns Cafe 95. This is the grandfather's house, built in 1919, and today it is a restaurant known for its cakes and chocolates. It is home to students like mathematician Gaby (Andy Abaya), football player Topher (Kobe Brown) and rom-com lover Genesis (Ralph Malibunas), who fall in love with the purple musician Finn . (Gale Bonavis)
The significance of this particular film is that it is the first film project created by Star Magic Studios, the film production arm of ABS-CBN's Star Magic talent division. The top six young actors were housemates in Pinoy Big Brother: Connect (December 6, 2020 to March 14, 2021), including two Best Teen finalists Andy Abai and Kobe Brown. Richard Huang was a housemate in 2015 before becoming a member of the UN in 2020.
Writer Mary Rose Calindres weaves together three stories of young love: a poor boy who thinks he's laughing at his father, a rich girl who wants to see him in athletics, and a desperate romance chasing a girl who's still recovering. ex love Colindres was able to decipher the missing pins with an inspirational message that everyone enjoyed, which was great.
And just when you think the story is over, twenty minutes before the end, a big story emerges that makes the film even more emotional. This new approach to the story brings more suspense and complications to the ordinary romance. It was such a great movie that you could almost predict how it would end. However, what I like is the main twist.
The young actors are still shooting their first movie, so maybe we should give them some time to live up to expectations. They are still very confident and quiet in front of the camera, often smiling and looking cute in front of their fans. Despite some serious themes, director Theodore Barabol keeps it light and fresh, so newcomers shouldn't worry too much. The most promising of the six are Abaya and Alikaya. 7/10
