Eliza (Chloe Barretto) is the wife of a prominent businessman, Christian Lopez (Carl Medina). She still needs to earn extra money as a top escort to maintain her high lifestyle. Her mother, Nora (Jacqueline Jose), introduced her to the leather trade at the age of 11, and since then, Eliza has lived in an effort to support her own gambling.
When Christian finds out about her experience and tells her about it, Eliza's comfortable routine begins to fall apart. What began as a desperate attempt at self-preservation spiraled out of control into a series of violence. Desperate, Elisa turns to her old high school friend Marcus (Jesse Santos) for help, but it may be too late.
The tragic story of a masochistic prostitute and her predatory mother, Bobby Bonifacio Jr. "Tahan," adds to Vivamax's long list of horror stories about sex and violence. The screenplay was written by Quinn Carrillo and she appeared as Eliza Michelle's on-screen girlfriend. Psycho was everywhere, so I credit his funny choice of name (the word "Tahan" used affectionately by a mother to soothe a crying child) and his Alfred Hitchcock inspiration.
It begins with Eliza's affair with Matron (Mercedes Cabral) to fulfill the film's sex quota. He also has a questionable scene with a spoiled old client (Francis Matta). To relax, Elisa meets different men every night, including regular boyfriend Dennis (Jet Delgado) and macho dancer Neil (AJ Atiza). Despite all this, Chloe Barrett felt empty, lifeless, with no energy in her face or body.
Once the chaos is under control, things go completely off the rails and the screen turns to gore. The mother had her own "chop-chop" when she ordered her car to be inexplicably "cut up" to distinguish it from the flea market. A bag of guts spilled onto the floor as the mother clumsily picked up a blood-soaked cotton swab. In fact, only Ms. Jacqueline Jose can pull off such outrageous acts and look gorgeous at the same time. 3/10.
