Vivamax: Review of KITTY K7: Camgirl Chronicles
July 9, 2022
Graphic illustrator Hannah (Rose Van Zinkel) has a sinister boss, Sir JV (Ker Legaspi) and her wayward lover Charles (Maggie Jimenez). Realizing that she is letting herself down, she decides to improve her appearance and clothing. One night, her best friend Tosha (Jean Kelly Manguera) introduces Hana to photographer Krishna (Marco Gallo). This encounter leads to a late-night photo shoot and the awakening of his sinister side.
When Krishna goes on a foreign mission and follows him, Hana decides to post her sensual activities on the Internet. This then led him to start his own video channel, where he interacted with paying strangers with his badass live shows like Kitty K7. Her career as a cam girl was an instant success, as she earned enough money to move into a nice apartment and buy a car. It wasn't long before Hannah's internet persona began to affect her real life.
Rose Van Zinkel's Vivamax career began with small roles in Daryl Yap productions such as 69+1 before co-starring in Pornstar, Gluta and Revirginized. With Kitty K7, Van Zinkel finally landed a lead role and shot to acting stardom. Lusted, and earned. Hannah's character has come a long way, and Van Zinkel makes you care about her, even if you don't agree with her bold life choices.
Marco Gallo gives a very poor performance as Krishna, a man who avoids emotions in his relationships. Fortunately, John Kelly Manguera toned down his acting style in the Daryl Yap film and took it more seriously this time as Hana's troubled lover Tosha. Dolly de Leon toasts to Cannes 2022 here as Hannah's mother, who is still unaware of how her daughter has taken her lifestyle to a new level.
It may sound ironic, but this Vivamax movie actually carries a strong message of women empowerment. A woman must be able to love herself first before worrying about what other people think. It's no surprise that the creative team behind this feature-length film is confidently led by women, led by director Joey Aquino, writer Pam Meras, DB Cara Moreno, editor Chris Desocido, and production designers Rochelle Ian Crisostomo and Carmela Danao. 6/10
