When she is told of the adoption, Violet Abragar (Angelica Cervantes) goes to look for her mother. With her boyfriend William (Vance Lorena), Violet goes to Novalit, Cavite to visit her grandmother, Tess (Maureen Mauricio), who makes a living by drying fish. Violet also meets her older sister, Samantha (Queen Carrillo), who works in the police force under the supervision of Officer Irwin de Leon (Casino Albee).
Violet was adopted as a child by Antonio (Jim Papanco) and Dina (Melissa Mendes) Abragar, a wealthy, childless couple. Over the years, Antonio has emerged as an abusive and violent husband and father who physically abused his wife and sexually assaulted his daughter. He made a fortune from the illegal drug trade, paying police chief Salinas (Tom Oliver) to protect his business.
The provocative title was only meant to shock, but had nothing to do with the plot. The plot was a mixture of various melodramatic metaphors of adoption and domestic violence. The criminal aspect of drug dealing and crooked police is a very tired and dark corner of many Filipino films, especially recently. Of course, being a Vivamax movie, random sex scenes were included.
Angelica Cervantes' Violetta may have experienced an unfortunate sexual assault, but her sexual desire has not diminished. The Queen of Table Sam of Carrillo was a sister-caravan with an ugly Mohawk, tight clothes, and fearless bravery. Albee Cassino had already played Ervin, and there was nothing new or surprising about it. Vance Lorena as Violet's companion and lover is completely lost, unremarkable, and even eventually forgotten.
Jim Papanco is always cool as the one-dimensional monster Antonio. Good thing we didn't see him molest the violets in the bedroom. Melissa Mendes had such a weak and lifeless presence on screen that her pathetic lines looked worse than they did. Director Joel Lamangan asks the Abraja family to pray the rosary together, another simple, predictable detail that doesn't help the movie. 1/10.
