Working student Boogie Alcantara (Vince Rilla) lives with his parents and younger siblings in their small bakery. One night he hurts a boy named Razi (Juami Gutierrez) who is having an affair with his masseuse girlfriend Monica (AJ Raval). His distraught mother, Belen (Irma Aglava), immediately takes Boogie to her brother, police officer Marlon (Mark Anthony Fernandez), hoping he can put Boogie out of his current predicament.
Razi turns out to be the scion of a Muslim family led by Muhammad (Julia Diaz). The desperate father immediately sends his eldest son Ahmed (Rayon Sandoval) to find Boogie. Meanwhile, Boogie hides out at the home of TJ (Felix Rocca), Marlon's ruthless right-hand man. Both camps clung to each other in the face of increasing threats and intimidation, resulting in the inevitable chaos of bloody pogroms.
The first scene shows a grieving Mark Anthony Fernandez and his men brutally torturing a helpless, naked woman (Catalia Sourio) with her hands tied above her head. From that opening scene alone, we are immediately warned that this film will not shy away from nudity and horror. And as promised, we get the gratuitous graphic depiction of sex and violence that Vivamax is known for.
Since his Vivamax debut in Cyclo (2022), Vince Relon has played the role of an ordinary man who finds himself in various sexually stimulating situations with various voluptuous women. This time Rylan gets to hang out with Vivamax's real life daughter, AJ Rawal, who needs to step up her game now that the Vivamax nymph cage is filled with more women wanting to dress up and beyond.
One of those promising tones is Dennis Esteban, who won the Best Poster award despite the fact that the role was the smallest, not even the main one. She plays TJ's clueless younger sister who seems to be being abused without her full understanding, a pathetic character who is there to show her devotion to the boogie. The last scene where he captures the polar bear was terrifying.
Brillante Mendoza's name may appear above the title, but he's the producer here, not the director. He hands over the reins to Daniel Palacio, who for the Vivamax Boogie brand tells the horror story in fast-paced, gripping angles, broken only by outdoor sex scenes. Its main distinguishing feature is the extreme brutality of the torture, which is definitely not for the faint of heart. 5/10
